I am Shai Melamed, an Aliyah Shaliach for the Jewish Agency for Israel in the Tri-state area.
Every day I work with Americans who are working to turn their dream of living in Israel into a reality. I'm fortunate to meet amazing people. American Jews who dream, pray, plan and, finally, fulfill the Mitzvah of Yesuv Eretz Yisrael (Settling in the land of Israel).
It’s a privilege and a pleasure to be able to provide this service; to help facilitate people’s Aliyah. I also know that making Aliyah is not an easy thing to do and that there are a tremendous about of considerations and sacrifices that people make. It’s my personal goal to be there and support people who are considering and choosing Aliyah.
The Orthodox Union shares my concern and together we have created an exciting partnership! We are now working together to forward the organization’s commitment to strengthen Jewish life and Jewish communities in the United States and to provide support for those of you who choose to take their love Israel one step forward, to make Aliyah.
So you, as an Aliyah candidate, are earning the support of two great organizations. The Jewish Agency for Israel and the Orthodox Union.
