Rabbi Robert Charnoff
Rabbi Robert Charnoff is the inaugural OU-JLIC Co-Director and Rabbi at Queens College. He and his wife Shoshana have been instrumental in establishing vibrant Orthodox Jewish life, Shabbat and holiday programming, daily learning opportunities, and a warm home on campus for the 1,000+ Orthodox Jewish students at Queens College. Rabbi Charnoff is also the driving force behind the immersive, daily women’s Torah learning program at Queens College, HaMidrasha at QC.
Rabbi Charnoff graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University with a BA in psychology before receiving semikhah from YU’s RIETS rabbinic program as well as from Rav Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg of the Rabbinical High Court in Jerusalem. He obtained a Master’s Degree from the Azrieli School of Jewish Education and Administration and completed YU’s Certificate Program in Experiential Jewish Education. Rabbi Charnoff served as the rabbinic intern at Congregation Ohab Zedek on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and has been a guest lecturer and scholar-in-residence at numerous synagogues throughout the New York area.
