Maaser Sheni 4:5-6

Ma’aser Sheini 4:5

If a person was standing on the threshing floor and he had no money handy, he may tell another person, “I give you this produce as a gift.” He can then redeem it with money that he has in the house. (In this way, he need not pay the extra fifth since he is not the owner.)

Ma’aser Sheini 4:6

If one person bought second tithe produce from another for a sela and the value doubled before he could redeem it, he pays a sela to redeem it. He earned a sela and the produce is his free and clear. If he bought second tithe produce for two selas and the value dropped to one sela before he could redeem it, he redeems it using one sela of unsanctified money and one sela of second tithe money. If the seller is an unlearned person (whose adherence to the laws of second tithe are in doubt), he gives one sela of unsanctified money and one sela of second tithe money from demai (doubtfully tithed produce).
