His release has been a major campaign for Israeli leaders and civilians, becoming an added source of tension between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Jewish people welcome the release of Jonathan Pollard,&#8221; Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.israelnationalnews.com\/News\/News.aspx\/203696#.Vk9FK3arTIV\">Arutz Sheva<\/a>. &#8220;As someone who brought up the issue many years with the US President, I have longed for this day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Pollard is currently on parole for the next five years, including travel restrictions preventing him from visiting Israel.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jta.org\/2015\/11\/20\/news-opinion\/united-states\/jonathan-pollard-freed-after-30-years\">JTA<\/a>, Pollard has requested immigrating to Israel, saying he would relinquish his U.S. citizenship and agree never to return to the United States as a condition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we recited Baruch Matir Asurim &#8220;Blessed be the One who frees the captive&#8221;\u2014found within morning prayers\u2014with extra appreciation.
