“The mood of the American people is shifting a little bit away from supporting Israel,” Zelcer states. “A lot of this is coming from a Protestant ethic of supporting the underdog. While Jews were being killed it was fashionable among the lefties to support Israel. Now that Israel is flourishing, they’re looking for someone else to support.”<\/p>\n

Zelcer also discusses the psychological barriers that exist in the charedi community against supporting Israel.<\/p>\n
