It\u2019s the season for long car drives.<\/p>\n<p>Most kids have their own devices to keep them entertained on this trips. However, it is also a great time to for your family to listen to audio books.<\/p>\n<p>Our family hasn&#8217;t taken a road trip in a while but when we do, my husband and I have found that audio books for kids hold our interest as well. They are light, fun, and the good stories are actually good. Jones, by Barbara Parks<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We tried to listen to some classics but they were a no go:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Classic-Starts-Audio-Family-Robinson\/dp\/1402773579\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1401207108&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=swiss+family+robinson+audio+cd\">Swiss Family Robinson<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Adventures-Tom-Sawyer-Mark-Twain\/dp\/1400136857\/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1401207159&amp;sr=1-3&amp;keywords=adventure+of+tom+sawyer+audio+cd\">The Adventures of Tom Sawyer<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Secret-Garden-Radio-Theatre\/dp\/1589975065\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1401207205&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=the+secret+garden+audio+cd\">The Secret Garden<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The last time I also got LingualFun, the French edition because the blurb on the package promised that we would learn French in no time. I was hoping my family would be fluent in French by the time we arrived in New York so that I could impress my cosmopolitan cousins with my kids jo\u2019ie de vi\u2019vre and sophistication. At any rate, my children were not on board with this idea. No one was interested in learning a new language! My kids were fine with English and the Hebrew that they know. They do not want to expand their horizons and they obviously don\u2019t care about their Mother\u2019s bragging rights. Wouldn\u2019t it be nice if I can tell all my friends that my kids are trilingual? See, even though I am a parent educator, I am not immune to trophy parenting.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps next year they\u2019ll pick up a third language?
