Either way it is a holiday favorite that adds servings of vegetables and flavor to your menu.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Holiday Stuffed Cabbage<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients<\/span>:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><em>1 lb. ground beef, chicken, or mixture<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 medium cabbage<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 onion, chopped<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 Tablespoon\u00a0dried parsley<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u00bd\u00a0cup cooked brown rice<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 cans condensed tomato soup<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 can tomatoes<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1\u00bd cups sauerkraut, drained<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 Tablespoons\u00a0brown sugar<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>3 cups water<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 clove minced garlic<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Salt and pepper to taste<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Directions<\/span>:<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Bring a pot of water to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Detach outer, loose cabbage leaves and discard. Core and split head in half. Peel three layers, carefully check these under a strong light on both sides. If leaves are clean and rest of cabbage is tightly packed together, wash cabbage well with soap and water.<\/li>\n<li>Place cabbage in boiling water and boil until partly cooked. Separate leaves and trim stems. Reserve about 24 to 32 whole leaves. Cut remaining leaves and line the bottom of large roasting pan.<\/li>\n<li>Mix together meat, onion, cooked rice, parsley, salt, pepper, garlic, and \u00bd can of tomato soup.<\/li>\n<li>Lightly pack a small handful of the meat mixture and place in the center of a cabbage leaf. Fold the top part of one leaf over mixture, then fold in the sides and roll until encased. Repeat with remaining leaves and meat mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Lay rolls on top of torn cabbage leaves in pan. Place sauerkraut and sprinkle sugar on top. Mix canned tomatoes and remaining tomato soup with water and pour over rolls.
