These easy to create, hands-on treats are based within context of weekly Torah portion for children of all ages and stages.<\/p>\n<p>Edible Parsha is a creation by Batya Jacob, director of the International Jewish Resource Center for Inclusion and Special Education, a division of Yachad\/NJCD.<\/p>\n<p>In this parsha, Moshe gathers all of the Jewish people so that he can formally say goodbye before the nation enters the land of Israel.<br \/>\nYou need a pepper, a tomato, two small zucchinis, two cucumbers, broccoli, and small veggies to decorate the face.   Form the vegetables into the person.  Use toothpicks to hold the parts in place.  This can be hung in the sukkah as a great decoration as well.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>Vayelech<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ou.org\/life\/files\/candyTorah-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"candyTorah\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-post-37620 wp-image-37634\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ou.org\/life\/files\/candyTorah-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.ou.org\/life\/files\/candyTorah.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>In this parsha, Moshe starts out by visiting each tent to say goodbye.  He then gathers the people in front of the Mishkan and introduces Yehoshua (Joshua) as the new leader to the Jewish people.  We are commanded to read from the book of Devarim every  seven years on the first day of Chol Hamoed Sukkot.  This mitzvah is called hakel.  <\/p>\n<p>You need two pretzel rods, one fruit by the foot, frosting, and sprinkles to make this Torah.<\/p>\n<p>Wrap the pretzel rods with the fruit by the foot.
