About those superimposed things in life, which<\/p>\n
Are less super, more imposed \u2013 you know, those<\/p>\n
External nuances necessary for a soul to exist in a<\/p>\n
Physical universe but not necessary for a soul to<\/p>\n
Exist. Period.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
But we talk not of external things, but of internal,<\/p>\n
Eternal things; we speak not of the barrel but of<\/p>\n
The potent wine it contains; we paint not the<\/p>\n
Expression but the essence it expresses \u2013<\/p>\n
And regarding essence\u2026<\/p>\n

And it will be

A way to touch something divine, a way<\/p>\n
To touch our souls, our essence \u2013 would<\/p>\n
That be restricting or liberating? Would<\/p>\n
That be called an ordinance or an<\/p>\n
Extraordinance?<\/p>\n

And when talking about connections,<\/p>\n
Touching something eternal, real, true,<\/p>\n
Does a small, fragile thing connect any<\/p>\n
Less than a big, brawny thing, does a<\/p>\n
Simpleton\u2019s kind word touch heaven<\/p>\n
Any less than the ingenious works of a<\/p>\n
Brilliant scholar dripping with profundity?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When is a connection, a relationship more<\/p>\n
Genuine: when one connects with big things<\/p>\n
That receive plaques and recognition or when<\/p>\n
One connects (also) with the small things that<\/p>\n
May go unrecognized to the world at large but<\/p>\n
Which make all the difference to the one you<\/p>\n
Connect with, the one you love?<\/p>\n

To think big is (sometimes) easy; to do all the little<\/p>\n
Things to get to that big place, not so much.<\/p>\n
