Sensitivity is not always synonymous<\/p>\n
With the human condition:<\/p>\n
We can very well hurt someone<\/p>\n
And remain immune to their pain.<\/p>\n

Cause \u2018n\u2019 effect:<\/p>\n
Nothing we do or don\u2019t<\/p>\n
Do is inconsequential.<\/p>\n

Always conscious of the<\/p>\n
Fact, doesn\u2019t mean the<\/p>\n
Fact isn\u2019t so)<\/p>\n
The only question is:<\/p>\n
Consequences<\/p>\n
Pure or impure?<\/p>\n

We say the right thing,<\/p>\n
Write the right word,<\/p>\n
Help someone \u2013<\/p>\n
A pure consequence.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The wrong thing, the<\/p>\n
Wrong word, hurt<\/p>\n
Someone \u2013 an impure<\/p>\n
Consequence.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It\u2019s as simple and painful<\/p>\n
As that.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Purity is sensitive;<\/p>\n
Impurity, insensitive.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It comes in many different shapes and sizes<\/p>\n
Does impurity:<\/p>\n
On bodies, clothes, homes.<\/p>\n
It can be a part of us; we can<\/p>\n
Dress up in it; we can live in it.<\/p>\n
But these shapes and sizes<\/p>\n
Only tell one angle of the story:<\/p>\n
You see, some impurities may be skin-deep \u2013<\/p>\n
This one isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We see facades, faces<\/p>\n
Results; but facades,<\/p>\n
Faces and results are<\/p>\n
Merely the painting<\/p>\n
Not the painter.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We see a skin, an exterior blemished, but can we<\/p>\n
Even imagine the marks on the inside?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Purity comes in just one shape and size:<\/p>\n
The soul truth.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This shall be the law
\n<\/i><\/p>\n
Of the metzora
\n<\/i><\/p>\n
On the day of his
\n<\/i><\/p>\n
Purification<\/i><\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We make mistakes.<\/p>\n
Sometimes we hurt the people<\/p>\n
That matter most, our brothers,<\/p>\n
Our sister; we hurt them with a<\/p>\n
Smirk, a condescending remark<\/p>\n
Or tone, an evil tongue twister,<\/p>\n
Twisting a truth into a lie,<\/p>\n
Twisting a pure thought into an<\/p>\n
Impure deed \u2013<\/p>\n
Twisting a heart.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And we end up outside the camp,<\/p>\n
Alone, broken, fragmented into a million<\/p>\n
Little pieces, separated from our people<\/p>\n
From our selves, separated even from those<\/p>\n
Who are separated \u2013 we are so broken even<\/p>\n
The broken can\u2019t stand us.<\/p>\n

The Kohen shall go
\n<\/i><\/p>\n
Outside of the camp\u2026<\/i><\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But then the purist, the priest,<\/p>\n
Who sees not the impurities we\u2019ve<\/p>\n
Caused and effected, but the purity<\/p>\n
That can never be affected because it<\/p>\n
Was not effected; no \u2013<\/p>\n
We aren\u2019t an effect \u2013<\/p>\n
We are the cause.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But sometimes we forget that we are the cause<\/p>\n
That has to affect things in a pure way and it takes<\/p>\n
A purist, a priest to see, and help us see, the purity:<\/p>\n
For what is a purist if not someone who sees<\/p>\n
The purity in everything.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And what is a purist if not a pure someone who<\/p>\n
Helps others become purists.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
What is a purist if not someone willing to find the<\/p>\n
Purity even in the broken?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
