Despite a lack of available heat and phone service due to Hurricane Sandy, the Orthodox Union’s offices, commencing on Friday, November 9, the OU will return to standard business hours, Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (EST) and Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 PM (EST).  Staff are requested to dress accordingly and bring their cell phones to work for urgent calls.

NOTE:  During this interim period without working office phones, we have posted a list with the alternate phone numbers and email addresses of primary contacts from each OU department.

Dear Team OU,
A full recovery from Hurricane Sandy is a long way off, but we must make our best faith effort to recapture some relative normalcy in our professional  lives. As such, given the steady increase of transportation options into Manhattan, the decision has been made by the lay and professional leadership to reopen the OU headquarters at 11 Broadway on Monday. We are mindful that coming into and out of the NYC is difficult so we have modified our open hours for Monday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (those who want may come earlier and stay later).
Of course, those who are unable to come to work should notify their direct supervisor and our human resources department.  Please be aware that there is no heat at the OU (see note below), so we recommend that you dress accordingly. Additionally, as there is still no phone service (see note below), we suggest that you bring a cell phone with you for your most urgent calls.
Travel safe. We’ll see you soon.
