DESCRIPTION:Achieving a Stigma-free Society for all Mental Health Issues: How Grandparents and Older Adults Can Be Involved \n\nWhat is stigma?\nDifferent types and how they affect an individual/ families/ community\nHow do we combat stigma for adults\, teens\, and children?\nAddictions\,Trauma\,molestation\nParent groups\nMicro and macro practice\n\nPresented by: Ruchama Clapman\, Founding/Executive Director\, MASK (Mothers & Fathers Aligned Saving Kids)\, and Dr. Debbie Akerman\, PhD\, LCSW\, CASAP  \nDr. Debbie Akerman is a licensed clinical social worker with years of experience in private practice. She specializes in  addiction/recovery\, trauma\, and marriage and family work. Dr Akerman facilitated one of MASK parent groups. \nThe mission of MASK (Mothers & Fathers Aligned Saving Kids) is to ensure that all parents/caregivers in the community receive the resources necessary to help raise emotionally healthy families. This goal is accomplished through a confidential helpline\, support groups\, prevention and awareness programs in the community and in school/after school programs .
