Rabbi Rakeffet was a close student of Rabbi Joseph B Soloveitchik and also studied under Rabbi Aharon Kotler in Lakewood. In the 1980’s\, Rabbi Rakeffet and his wife Malka traveled to the Soviet Union several times on behalf of the Mossad’s clandestine Nativ unit. Rabbi Rakeffet has been a member of the Gruss Kollel faculty since its inception in 1976 and teaches weekly classes to his devoted talmidim who join in person and across the world virtually. \nDOVI SAFIER is an entrepreneur and investor who also enjoys researching unexplored chapters of Jewish History. Get a first look at how the pandemic affected religious experience\, mental and physical health\, and financial well-being. \nKey finding: Orthodox Jews living in these four communities largely insulated from the harmful effects of the pandemic\, due to their high socioeconomic status and religious resources\, including tools for coping with stress and reduced existential uncertainty. \nDr. Michelle Shain is a social scientist who combines academic expertise in policy research with a passionate commitment to the well-being of the Jewish community. She holds an MA from the Avraham Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Ph.D. in Social Policy from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.
