DESCRIPTION:Kristallnacht Holocaust Commemoration\, Part I \nIn commemoration of Kristallnacht\, the night of broken glass\, 82 years ago\, the SPIRIT program is  honored to hear from several children of survivors who will  tell their parents’ stories. As Elie Weisel\, a survivor of Auschwitz and Nobel Prize winner said: “To hear a witness is to become a witness.”  This will be a 2-part program which will continue on Thursday\, 11/12/20 \nPresenters for 11/10/20: \nEva Moreimi grew up in Czechoslovakia as an only child to two Holocaust survivor parents. Shortly after graduating from Economic School\, she escaped from the Communist regime and immigrated to the United States. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband close to their three children and six grandchildren. Eva is the author of  Hidden Recipes\, A Holocaust Memoir  which tells the story of her  family’s will and determination\, and their struggles to survive. \nDeborah Leonard was born in a Displaced Persons Camp in Germany in the aftermath of World War II. She came to the US as a young child in October\, 1951 and grew up on the north side of Chicago. She attended the University of Illinois where she earned a B.A. and M. A. and where she taught for several years before transitioning to corporate America in sales\, marketing and product development.
