Between This World and the Next: Chevra Kadisha, Grief, and the Journey of the Soul<\/strong><\/p>\n

What does Judaism teach about the soul\u2019s journey after death? How do ancient rituals surrounding death and burial help guide both the deceased and the living through moments of profound transition?<\/p>\n

In this heartfelt and thought-provoking talk, we explore the sacred work of the Chevra Kadisha, Jewish perspectives on the soul and the afterlife, and the ways faith and ritual can bring comfort, meaning, and healing in times of grief and loss. Through stories, tradition, and reflection, participants are invited into a deeper understanding of mortality, compassion, and the holiness that surrounds the end of life.<\/p>\n

Elissa Felder started and actively manages the only international community of practice for women engaged with traditional Chevra Kadisha (Burial Society).<\/p>\n

Knowledge she has acquired motivated her to write a personal memoir of loss and grief weaving in Jewish teachings about life, death and afterlife. Her book, \u201cFrom One Life to the Next Life: The Sacred Passage After Death,\u201d was published by Mosaica Press. https:\/\/mosaicapress.com\/product\/from-one-life-to-the-next-life\/<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition, Elissa is the coordinator for all of Core\u2019s Communities of Practice (www.CoreTorah.org<\/a>).These communities offer training, resources and support for those who want to strengthen their communities on an intentional and ongoing basis.
