Springfield, NJ – http://congregationisreal.org/

Springfield, NJ is a cozy and pleasant place to live and raise a family. The center of the orthodox Jewish community is Congregation Israel of Springfield (CIS). Under the leadership of Rabbi Chaim Marcus, CIS has seen explosive growth with the young family demographic increasing from a handful of families just 8 years ago to 35 young families and counting today. CIS is a warm and inviting shul and a place all community members feel at home. CIS is the only orthodox shul in Springfield which results in an out-of-town style community only a little more than 30 minutes outside NYC.

Due its geographic location, Springfield residents can reasonably access employment opportunities in NYC and anywhere in NJ north of Trenton. Springfield, NJ has 4 local kosher establishments; a bagel store, an ice cream / ices / frozen yogurts / soup place, a chinese restaurant and a fine dining meat restaurant. Local supermarkets also carry kosher products, including meats and cheese. There are two modern orthodox day schools (Kushner & JEC) both within a 15 minute drive from Springfield. Incentives are available on a limited basis. Information about a community is important, but if you really want to know what’s going on in Springfield, please come for a Shabbos and you will see for yourself. Let us know when you’d like to come and we’ll take care of the rest.
