Oak Park, MI–

If you are Modern Orthodox and are looking for a wonderful, affordable community, Young Israel of Oak Park is the place for you! Conveniently located at the very center of Metro Detroit’s thriving Jewish community, YIOP is the largest Orthodox synagogue in Michigan and is growing every year. In the past five years alone, Young Israel of Oak Park has added 49 new member families/singles.

Jewish amenities that are literally next door to Young Israel of Oak Park include the Jewish Community Center with its health club and indoor swimming pool (with separate hours for men and women), Jewish senior and assisted living residences and mikvaot for women and men. YIOP is also within walking distance of a number of kosher restaurants and grocery stores, as well as many other retail establishments.

If you have children of any age, Young Israel of Oak Park has whatever you need. For your pre-schoolers, we have a professionally staffed playroom that is larger than in any other Orthodox shul around. The teens have their own minyan on Shabbat morning. For those in between, there are organized Shabbat groups. During the week, we have dynamic programming and educational opportunities for the various segments of our diverse congregation led by members of our community, including the Midwestern B’nei Akiva shaliach and other young shlichim who have recently completed their Tzahal service.

Come visit the Young Israel of Oak Park community. We have no doubt that one weekend with us will convince you that this is the place to raise your family.
