East Brunswick, NJ United States – OU Communities

About this community

Located along the Raritan and South Rivers in Central New Jersey, East Brunswick attracts families and couples to our suburban lifestyle within easy travel to both New York City and Philadelphia.

Two park-and-rides offer commuter bus service to Manhattan, and East Brunswick is a short drive from three NJ Transit rail stations and easily accessible to Amtrak. The community is centrally located to top-flight companies and institutions, including Rutgers University, Princeton University, Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Saint Peter’s University Hospital, Ernst & Young, and Prudential.

The Young Israel of East Brunswick is home to over 215 families enjoying the “one shul” Modern Orthodox community led by Rabbi Efrayim Unterman. We have a mikvah; Shabbos youth groups, a teen minyan, Dor L’Dor program, and weekday youth activities; adult education classes, including a weekly lunch-and-learn at Giddy’s Pizzeria; and many other fun, social, charitable, and educational programs.

There are ample and affordable homes and apartments within walking distance of the Young Israel. Homes start around $400K with three and four bedrooms and large properties. School options abound in East Brunswick, home to the Netivot Montessori Yeshiva and Hatikvah International Academy Charter School, the state’s only Hebrew-language charter school. Our children also attend RPRY (Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva) and Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, as well as numerous high schools.

East Brunswick offers public resources for people of all ages. The township maintains 17 parks including Crystal Springs Waterpark, our very own aquatic center with multiple pools and slides.

YIEB new families receive one complimentary year of membership and one year deferred on their building fund obligation.
