East Brunswick, NJ United States – OU Communities

About this community

Located along the Raritan and South Rivers in Central New Jersey, East Brunswick attracts Modern Orthodox families, couples, and singles to our suburban lifestyle within easy distance of both New York City and Philadelphia.

The Young Israel of East Brunswick is home to over 215 families enjoying a “one shul” Modern Orthodox community led by Rabbi Joshua Hess. We have a mikvah, an eruv, kosher restaurants and shopping. Shabbos youth groups and a teen minyan, weekday youth activities, adult education classes, and many other fun, social, charitable, and educational programs!

Our community is centrally located to top-flight companies and institutions, including Rutgers University, Princeton University, Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Saint Peter’s University Hospital, Ernst & Young, and Prudential.

Two park-and-rides in East Brunswick offer express bus service to Manhattan, and three NJ Transit rail stations are just fifteen minutes away.

There are affordable homes and apartments along tree-lined streets surrounding the Young Israel. Single-family homes start around $400K with three and four bedrooms and large properties.

School options abound in East Brunswick, home to the Netivot Montessori Yeshiva and Hatikvah International Academy Charter School, the state’s only Hebrew-language charter school. Our children also attend nearby Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva (RPRY) along with Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy and numerous high schools.

East Brunswick offers public resources for people of all ages. The township maintains 17 parks with lakes, trails, ball fields, tennis and pickleball courts, and more. We’re also home to the Playhouse 22 community theater and to Crystal Springs Waterpark, our community aquatic center with pools, slides, sprinkler park, and lazy river.
