About this community

They say “there is no comparison to Harrison.”  Here are just a few reasons why:  Located in Westchester County, just a 35-minute train ride to midtown Manhattan, Harrison offers a wide range of homes in a bucolic setting.  Harrison’s growing Orthodox community is perfect for growing families.  Close to three nearby mikvahs, two exclusively kosher groceries and prepared food establishments and several kosher restaurants, Harrison also boasts an impressively large eruv.

The Harrison School Board offers free bus transportation to many nearby yeshivas.  These include: Westchester Day School, Westchester Hebrew High School, Westchester Torah Academy, SAR Academy, SAR High School, RAMAZ, Carmel Academy and Solomon Schechter of Westchester.

The Young Israel of Harrison (YIOH), led by Rabbi Yaakov Bienenfeld for the last 27 years, offers an intimate religious and communal experience.  With a new building completed in 2010, there are facilities for youth groups, supervised by an experienced teacher, and a preschool playroom.  In addition to Shabbat services and weekly Talmud and Chumash classes, there are many social events and interesting speakers.

YIOH proudly welcomes congregants of all levels of observance, Hebrew knowledge and religious background.

The Young Israel of Harrison has made, and will continue to offer, relocation incentives through discreet and private conversation with interested and committed families.
