As Director of Halacha Initiatives, Rabbi Sarna works to solve halachic challenges that face North American Jewry and support smaller organizations in their work to enhance halacha observance. He is currently involved in creating new systems, technology and partnerships that will affect various areas of halacha and his door is always open for new ideas that could benefit Mitzvah observance. 

Prior to joining the OU, he served for 4 years as communal Rabbi in Dallas and subsequently for 3 years as Head of School in Houston. Originally from Montreal, Rabbi Sarna is a musmach of Yeshivas Ner Yisrael of Baltimore.

Director of Outreach and Project Last Kindness, NASCK

Yael Davidowitz is a passionate educator who developed the Last Kindness project in response to the alarming 50% cremation rate among American Jews. Last Kindness provides meaningful education on the beauty, value, and significance of Jewish burial and afterlife care.

Before joining NASCK full-time in 2021, Yael, a Columbia University-trained nurse, worked as an adult-geriatric nurse practitioner. She has also volunteered with her local Chevra Kadisha for nearly two decades.

Cost

The conference fee has been subsidized to $125, which includes lunch and dinner.

We encourage Chevros Kadisha to cover the conference, travel, and lodging costs as an investment in their leaders - an investment that will ultimately strengthen and benefit their Chevra Kadisha.
