Upcoming Events: Chanukah Concert/ Ask OU Program in Lawrence/ Women’s Mission to Israel…

The OU Department of Community Services, Congregation Ohab Zedek and Saw You at Sinai invite the public to a Chanukah concert starring C Lanzbom, Nochi Krohn and Yisroel Juscowicz. The event will be held Saturday night, Dec. 24 at 7:30 at Congregation Ohab Zedek in Manhattan. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. (There is a $5 discount with student ID.) The Harry H. Beren ASK OU Outreach program will be hosting two community kashrus events at Congregation Shaaray Tefila in Lawrence, NY. On Monday, Dec. 26, OU Rabbinic Coordinator and bird expert Rabbi Chaim Loike will present “The Mesorah of Kosher Birds.” On Monday, Jan 2, OU Rabbinic Coordinator and fish expert Rabbi Chaim Goldberg will offer an exciting live presentation on fish. The OU Israel Center presents the L’ayla Women’s Israel Mission, coming up in February, 2012. This trip will provide excellent touring in the north, the Judean desert, and around the Yerushalayim area.  In addition, there will be shiurim with such noted teachers as Mrs. Shira Smiles, Rabbi Sholom Gold, Rabbanit Yemima Mizrachi, Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz and more. There will also be meetings will such notable community leaders as the Belzer Rebbetzin and Rabbanit Levinger of Chevron. There is an early bird discount of $100 for those who sign up by December 31. Canada NCSY will be having their first-ever trip to Los Angeles and Las Vegas this February. Participants will spend Shabbos in Beverly Hills, see the Vegas strip, and go to Universal Studios in Hollywood. We look forward to hearing more about this exciting program.
