Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb as Scholar-in-Residence for Upcoming JLIC Program

OU Executive Vice President, Emeritus Rabbi Dr. Tzvi Hersh Weinreb will serve as scholar-in-residence at the OU’s Seif Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus (JLIC) program at the University of Maryland, College Park, on parshat Tazria-Metzora, April 27-28. The school is where Rabbi Weinreb earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology.

Rabbi Weinreb will discuss “Implications of Contemporary Psychological Research for Jewish Religious Behavior” and “Challenges to Faith, Obstacles to Practice.” He will also lead a Q&A session for students in the Maryland Kollel.

Rabbi Eli and Naomi Kohl the JLIC Torah Educators at the University of Maryland, said, “Having Rabbi Weinreb for Shabbos provides students with the unique opportunity to hear from someone who is an expert in both Torah and secular knowledge. The way he synthesizes psychology and Torah is an example for students to see how to infuse the different areas of study they do in school into their lives and professions.”
