Not Just a Good Idea…

…it’s the law! And if you want to get caught up on all matters of Jewish law, OU Torah has got you covered!

First, there’s Mishnah Brurah Yomi, taught by Rabbi Aaron E. Glatt, MD, which covers a daf of Mishnah Brurah each day. Just this week (in fact, today as I write this), Mishnah Brurah Yomi started the second volume (of six) of this seminal work of halacha l’maaseh (practical halacha).

A supplement to Mishnah Brurah Yomi is the Mishnah Brurah Iyun Chaburah, taught by Rabbi Efraim Glatt, JD. This series covers halachic topics of contemporary interest, such as davening from a smartphone, or a chazzan who affects an accent.

Another series that addresses modern-day halachic questions is Practical Halacha by Rabbi Avi Zakutinsky. This series – which includes both audio shiurim and text articles – addresses such issues as whether a kohein who killed a person can duchen and kidney donation.

Also on the subject of halacha l’maaseh (practical halacha) is Halacha L’Maaseh (from practicalhalacha.com). Whether the subject is brachos or death and mourning, author Richard Aiken lays out the laws in a clear and concise fashion.

Other halacha series on OU Torah include Yoreh DeahBusiness Ethics (on Choshen Mishpat), HaShoneh Halachos (on Kitzur Shulchan Aruch) and HaShoneh Halachos 2: Mishneh Torah, among others! Find them all on OU Torah and by using the OU Torah app for iOS!
