The Israeli army has revealed that it provided intelligence preventing the planned bombing of an Australian flight by the Islamic State in August. According to a senior army officer, it was Military Intelligence Unit 8200 that thwarted the planned attack.
Australia arrested two men suspected of trying to place an explosive on an Etihad Airways flight leaving Sydney. According to The New York Times, Australian police called the plan one of “the most sophisticated plots that has ever been attempted on Australian soil.”
