Continuing its commitment to strengthening Jewish families and addressing timely issues impacting Jewish homes, the OU Department of Community Services is offering a special presentation, “Empowering Success as a Single Parent,” led by Rachel Pill, L.C.S.W. The event, co-sponsored by the Young Israel of Flatbush, will take place on Saturday, January 7 at 7:30 pm at the synagogue, 1012 Avenue I. The event is in partnership with Sister to Sister, a Brooklyn-based support network for Jewish single mothers.
Topics will include the many roles of a single parent, strategies for effective parenting in the best interest of the children, developing time for yourself while juggling a busy schedule, dating again, and more. The event is geared for single parents, both men and women, but is open to all, with free admission. (Advance registration is encouraged.) For further information, visit www.oucommunity.org or call 212-613-8300.
