A Jewish man was assaulted by a group of about 50 men in the Hague on Liberation Day, the Netherlands’ holiday celebrating their liberation from the Nazis. His attackers had been singing about gassing Jews.

The victim, identified only as Joram, had asked the men to stop singing the offensive song, whose lyrics include the sentiment, “My father was in the commandos, my mother was in the SS, together they burned Jews ’cause Jews burn the best.”

The attackers wore jerseys of the Feyenoord soccer club of Rotterdam. The club’s rival is Amsterdam’s Ajax team, which many associate with Jews.
