CREATE AND CONNECT: PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS<\/span><\/h2>\n

Cohort #1: Eishet<\/b>\u00a0Chayil Initiative<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Through an innovative approach of combining a Torah outlook on women\u2019s spiritual, professional and leadership skills, the\u00a0<\/span>Eishet<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Chayil<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Initiative<\/span>\u00a0reinforces feelings of fulfillment, confidence, and strength.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>It provides a framework for communities to<\/span>\u00a0develop<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0series of events fo<\/span>r women<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>which\u00a0<\/span>blend Torah perspectives with matters of time management, financial health, mental health, physical health and wellness, leadership and spirituality.\u00a0 Th<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0unique approach enables women to achieve a balance in their lives and become more confident and comfortable in future leadership roles within the community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Create and Connect mentors g<\/span>uide\u00a0<\/span>synagogues\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>focus on\u00a0<\/span>key\u00a0<\/span>feature<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0in the success of this program<\/span>\u00a0such as<\/span>:\u00a0<\/span>diversity\u00a0<\/span>in topic and presentation<\/span>, ac<\/span>tive learning<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0\u201ctake away\u201d tools\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>small discus<\/span>s<\/span>ion groups<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Designed to appeal to women of different ages and stages of life, the program attracts participants beyond the immediate synagogue community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        The\u00a0<\/span>Young Israel of Hollywood<\/span>– <\/span>Ft. Lauderdale<\/span>\u00a0was\u00a0<\/span>successful in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>presenting a variety of programs that appealed to a broad range of women and brought women of different demographic backgrounds together.\u00a0 All participants appreciated the opportunity to learn, socialize and grow.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        The Eishet Chayil Program was developed and run by the Young Israel of Hollywood- Ft. Lauderdale.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

        \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Cohort #2: Your Voice \u2013 Our Community<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

        Women play many roles within their communities.\u00a0 To some extent they have not had\u00a0<\/span>sufficient<\/span>\u00a0opportunities to assume leadership position<\/span>s<\/span>.\u00a0 They may<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>find themselves in leadership positions, at times without much notice or experience.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Through a multi-faceted schedule of events, Your Voice \u2013 Our Community enables participants to focus on\u00a0<\/span>developing leadership skills and encourages women to take on leadership roles in the community.\u00a0 The weekend program inspires<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>comradery, volunteerism and leadership.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Create and Connect mentors guide<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>synagogue<\/span>s to develop a\u00a0<\/span>weekend progr<\/span>am\u00a0<\/span>encompassing\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>commu<\/span>nity<\/span>-wide<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Shabbat\u00a0<\/span>focused on themes of leadership\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>nd\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0<\/span>Sunday leadership training and team building retreat<\/span>\u00a0for women<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \u00a0Sunday Retreat\u00a0includes:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

            • Multiple team building social activities in which teams are intentionally representative of cross-sections of the community, helping to build new bonds and connections.\u00a0(Afternoon team building activities with new and diverse participant groupings)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Lunch and leadership training sessions given by an accomplished professional\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  • Additional presentation on providing services for the special\u00a0needs\u00a0community\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Women\u2019s Program\u00a0Challenge:\u00a0\u00a0participants\u00a0tasked\u00a0to create a new initiative for synagogue\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Closing event:\u00a0Selection of\u00a0one proposal for its creativity and promise with the winning team receiving a cash prize to be used for the initiation of the selected program\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    \u00a0<\/span>The\u00a0<\/span>Program Challenge is a unique program component in that it enables the\u00a0<\/span>continuity of the program encouraging participants to use their \u201cnewly acquired\u201d leadership skills and assuring women\u2019s presence in synagogue programming.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    Participants submit a post event evaluation and are presented with a list of community volunteer opportunities.\u00a0 Those completing these final steps are entered into a raffle for a prize.\u00a0 A follow up survey at a time in the future allows the organizers to assess the ongoing impact of the program.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    \u00a0<\/span>Attracting women of all ages, the program seeks to create new bonds between the generations over the course of the weekend.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The Your Voice \u2013 Our Community Program was created and run by Young Israel of Southfield Michigan<\/strong><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    Cohort #3: Saturday Night <\/b>In(<\/b>Side Torah) Women\u2019s Learning Initiative<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

                    In many communities,\u00a0<\/span>w<\/span>omen\u2019s events typically consist of classes on a specific aspect of Torah learning or<\/span>\u00a0are\u00a0<\/span>more social in nature.\u00a0 The Saturday Night\u00a0<\/span>In(<\/span>Side Torah) Women\u2019s Learning Initiative seeks to create a<\/span>\u00a0synergy<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Torah learning coupled with social<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>activities<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0engagement.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    A key and unique component\u00a0<\/span>to the s<\/span>u<\/span>ccess\u00a0<\/span>of the initiative<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>p<\/span>re-program survey<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>prepared for\u00a0<\/span>a broad spectrum of the community<\/span>\u00a0that help<\/span>s to\u00a0<\/span>identify\u00a0<\/span>the most attractive\u00a0<\/span>inspirational\u00a0<\/span>Torah topics and the potential social activities.\u00a0 It is a program designed with participant input from the start, ensuring its attractiveness and future desirability.\u00a0 This feature enables\u00a0<\/span>women\u00a0<\/span>to create a curriculum that is meaningful and fulfills their need for growth.\u00a0 Similarly, post-event questionnaires allow organizers to ascertain the success of the program and future\u00a0<\/span>marketing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>alternatives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                    \u00a0The Young Israel of Cleveland initial grant\u00a0program hosted the following Saturday night events:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

                        • Kumsitz<\/i>\u00a0evening of music and learning\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          T<\/span>his<\/span>\u00a0program\u00a0<\/span>was highly successful\u00a0<\/span>in Clevelan<\/span>d,<\/span>\u00a0reaching its goals of attracting large attendance by women\u00a0from within and from outside the synagogue community.\u00a0 Participants appreciated the opportunity to learn and spend an enjoyable evening with\u00a0<\/span>women from<\/span>\u00a0a broad spectrum of the community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                          \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The Saturday Night\u00a0In(Side Torah) Women\u2019s Learning Initiative was developed and run by the Young Israel of Cleveland.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

                          \u00a0Cohort #4: <\/span><\/span>THRIVE – The Women\u2019s Professional Mentorship Program<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

                          \u00a0THRIVE is a mentoring program aimed to create a connection between women in the community of different ages and stages in life with others who have similar goals and professional interests and expertise. The program offers a\u00a0<\/span>framework within which women can share tools and knowledge with each other, developing practical workplace\u00a0<\/span>or life skills.<\/span>\u00a0 It provides unique professional development opportunities that are sensitive to the needs of Orthodox women in the workplace<\/span>\u00a0and professional skills which can be applied to all areas of their lives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
                          \n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                          The six-month mentoring program includes:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                                \n
                              • Detailed interest forms and self-assessment tools for mentors and mentees\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              • Mentor\u00a0and\u00a0mentee matching process\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              • Framework for four in-person, group sessions aimed at establishing an effective mentoring relationship and offering direct opportunities for professional skill development\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              • Formal, built-in opportunities for participants to evaluate and give feedback about the program and to suggest additional topics to be addressed\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              • Framework for\u00a0formal wrap-up session discussing the process of ending the mentorship and\/or continuing the relationship\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
                              • End of\u00a0program\u00a0survey and reports\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                Participants\u00a0<\/span>in the initial THRIVE grant program<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>found\u00a0<\/span>it<\/span>\u00a0to be very empowering and helped with personal growth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>The program helped create positive bonds between women in the community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                                The THRIVE Women\u2019s Professional Mentorship Program was created and run by Congregation Darchei Noam, Fair Lawn, NJ.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
