Over the past three decades, Rav Yochanan Zweig has inspired thousands with his brilliant and thought-provoking lectures and shiurim. His keen analytical approach challenges his students, giving them a greater understanding and appreciation for Jewish law and philosophy. While attending Ner Israel Rabbinical College from 1955-1969, Rabbi Zweig received rabbinical ordination – Yoreh Yoreh & Yadin Yadin – from Rabbi Yaakov Yitzchak Ruderman zt”l and Rabbi Yaakov Weinberg zt”l.
Rav Zweig received his formal education from Johns Hopkins University and went on to pursue a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Subsequently, he completed a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Talmudic Law from the Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, MD.
Rabbi Zweig went on to Israel where he served as a Rosh HaYeshiva of Beis HaTalmud in Jerusalem. In 1974, Rabbi Zweig moved to Miami Beach, FL and opened the Talmudic University of Florida/Yeshiva v’Kollel Bais Moshe Chaim, Alfred and Sadye Swire College of Judaic Studies, a complete educational system on two campuses; from preschool to Smicha and graduate degrees.
