Ms. Deborah Schick Laufer
Deborah Schick Laufer has over 25 years of experience in dispute resolution and conflict management. She is a founding member of Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBB-I) and served as Secretary of its Executive Board. She was Manager of Mediation Services for Workplace Disputes at the World Bank Group. Afterwards, she was Chief of ADR Training for the US Air Force where she was in charge of curriculum development for mediation and negotiation training. She has mediated, facilitated and coached approximately 500 cases primarily in the area of workplace disputes.
Ms. Laufer is also Executive Director of the Federal ADR Network, a mediation and facilitation consultancy that incorporates a listserv she established in 1998 of alternative dispute resolution developments that is distributed to over 1,500 individuals and corporations worldwide. She received her JD from Georgetown University Law Center. She graduated with honors from Barnard College, Columbia University, with a major in political science and minors in economics and psychology. Deborah is certified to practice law in the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania.
Ms. Laufer was elected to the Board of Directors and later the Board of Governors of the Orthodox Union in part due to her experience with non-profit boards and her communications and mediation experience.
