Terror Attack Update

We feel with great pain your loss, your grief, your sorrow and anger. May Hashem heal your wounds speedily and may your lives rebuild with the knowledge that millions of fellow jews around the world are more than willing to help in any way.
Danny Mayer <danny@mayer.com.au>

We all fell very saddened at the death of an innocent civilian caused by terrorism for any reason whatsoever. Until the Palestinian Authority truly cracks down on Hamas and Hazbullah and other radical groups there can never be peace in Israel no matter how much territory is given away and which should be not given away. I suggest ending the so-called peace process immediately.

SOMEONE ONCE POINTED OUT TO ME THAT JUST ABOUT EVERY ONE OF THE RECENT SUICIDE ATTACKS ON ISRAEL OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS OCCURED AT TIMES OF THE DAY IN WHICH YESHIVOT IN ERETZ YISROEL WERE NOT IN SESSION. INDEED THE YESHIVOT WERE NOT IN SESSION DURING THE EARLY RUSH HOUR ATTACKS, AND IT IS QUITE A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT ISRAEL SHUTS DOWN FROM BETWEEN THE HOURS OF ONE IN THE AFTERNOON, UNTILL FOUR IN THE AFTERNOON. THE FACT THAT SUCH A TRAGIC OCCURENCE HAS ONCE AGAIN BEFALLEN ISRAEL, AND AT PRECISELY A QUARTER PAST ONE IN THE AFTERNOON, IS NO COINCIDENCE. G-D CREATED THE WORLD ALLOWING THAT THE SUN SHINE ITS RAYS SOMEWHERE ON THIS EARTH AT EVERY MOMENT OF THE DAY. G-D IN HIS INFINITE WISDOM ALSO SCATTERED HIS DEAR CHILDREN ABOUT THE EARTH, ALLOWING FOR HIS HOLY TORAH TO CONSTANTLY BE LEARNT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DAY. THEREFORE, WHEN ERETZ YISROEL SETTLES DOWN TO REST, IT IS EVERYONE ELSES DUTY TO MAKE UP FOR THAT TEMPORARY LOSS. MAY HASHEM GIVE US THE STRENGTH TO IMMERSE OURSELVES IN HIS TORAH, AND IN THE MERIT OF OUR LEARNING, AND FOR THE SAKE OF THOSE WHOM WILL NEVER AGAIN BE ABLE TO ACQUIRE THE FRUITS OF THIS WORLD, MAY WE MERIT TO SEE AND EXPERIENCE THE ULTIMATE REDEMPTION SPEEDILY IN OUR DAYS. "AL SHLOSHA DEVARIM HA'OLAM OMED - AL HATORAH, V'AL HA'AVODAH, V'AL GEMILUT CHASADIM".

Is there anything to say to help all theses families? Do words mean something when the pain is so terrible? Let's pray, altogether for their souls! I believe that if The ALMIGHTY called them to HIM, they must be very special and chosen!!! So lets believe that only the BEST of our People are called soon in their lives to join HEAVEN!!! They are certainly doing their best to lead all the children of Israel to Redemption and Peace and the coming of Mashiah!!! With a lot of Faith, Daniella

The malachei hasharet, when confronted with the dilemma of the asara harugei malchut ask the rhetorical and unanswerable question: "Zeh Torah v'zeh scharah?" The recent series of senseless murders of innocent children, random cafe goers, and a non-combatant soldier is now punctuated by the tragedy for our generation of how the Torah itself has become an almanah with the loss of the great and unequalled talmidah chachamah, the teacher of generations and for generations, Professor Nechama Leibowitz. Her loss, particularly at this crucial moment in Jewish history should give pause to all, whatever their ideology, who believe that they have all the answers. Rather, we should all recognize the chasm before which we stand, and see what we can do to fill in and rebridge that from which we are becoming increasingly bereft. Nechama, zecher tzadeket l'vracha, always raised more questions than she answered and recognized and esteemed multiple drachim for appraching a problem in Torah study. The true Nechama will be rea.lized only if we see to it that our multiple drachim converge into the unity of Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, and Torat Yisrael, Bim'hera b'yamenu b'qarov.

It is the responsibility of the living to make meaningful the sacrifices of the dead. What did they stand for? What did they cherish? It is to these things, not the petty tedium of daily scrabbling for existence, that we must devote our time, attention and energies. This world was never intended by HaShem, Almighty G-d, to be a waiting room for the next. We must never let terror, in any form, diminish our ability to have joy in this world. Every time a Jew dies in our land I am torn inside as if someone has torn out a piece of my Soul. And indeed someone has; for we are all one Soul, and the loss of any life, is the loss of part of our own. I and my family weep with you who have suffered these tragedies directly. Rav Yashuv Ber Soleveitchik once said that life is often like a tapestry, and the knots and frayed ends we see on this side, somehow form a beautiful weave on the Di-vine side. May you who have lost, along with all of k'lal Yisrael, merit to see the revealing of H-ashem's tapestry that is somehow formed through these torn threads, speedily in our days with the total rebuilding of all of Yerushalayim and our Beit Hamikdosh.

It saddens me to the extreme when children and innocent people are targeted by the fanatics. As a retired military man I understand legitimate targets. I have since my retirement from the military strived to love all people. Regardless of religion, race or creed, the Islamic fundementalist make it hard for me to achieve the peace and serenity to love everyone. I sincerely pray for all people to live together in peace. My feelings towards such acts of madness can only be expressed in the medium I know best, that of a song; I HAVE A DREAM (c) 1994 C. M. Maertens-Maslia As I look up, at the starry sky A tormented sea, brews in my eyes Visions of peace, I can't seem to shake free Visions of love...And unity Can't go on dreamin' now, so you say.... (Chorus) But, still... Anyway.... I have a dream That helps me through each day I have a dream This world could use some change Yes, I have a dream I have a dream You say I should, not think of tomorrow How can I not, when I see such sorrow Lincoln ' Luther now,...They had dreams... How have these hurt, the world you know? Can't go on dreamin' now, you still say.... (Chorus) But still... I tell you... That I must go...On dreamin' 'Cos what else is, there to believe in? I have a dream This world could use some change Yes, I have a dream I have a dream (Bridge ) Some are Red, some are Black Some are White, that’s a fact But it’s THE SAME DIFFERENCE Ev’ry race has its rats It’s just a shame IGNORANCE... Can’t be stopped in its tracks Won’t you join me, on my dreamin’ isle See the beauty, behind all eyes Visions of peace, will someday set us free Imagine… A world… In unity…. WINDS (WINGS) OF WAR ©1991 C. M. Maertens-Maslia caught in Hussein's voluntary oil spill in the midst of The Desert Storm Operation> Under the desert’s sun, I stand Miles away from nowhere A new day has just begun, and yet Smoke still whips the air Sand storms caused by the winds of war Don’t we want peace anymore? Some say we may just have to fight (oh, oh...) Since when, was such madness, Ever worth dying for? (Chorus) Winds of ...(Wings of war!) Don’t we want peace anymore? We’ve gone too ...(Far too far!) Birds wash up dead on our shores (oh, oh, oh,....) Don’t we want peace anymore? Out, in the light of night, I hear Choppers crack like thunder All’s wrong here, no one’s right We know but it don’t matter Up in arms, as I hit the ground I wonder what all this is for... My heart is drumming fear to my hands (Oh, oh,..) Will I ever be, the same as before??! (Chorus) Caught in this web of war, I pray For all strategic masters ‘Cos in a softer glove Their powers could do wonders As I lay here, now biting sand Trying hard to understand... Bullets race on, beside my thoughts (Oh, oh,...) We’ve got such power... Can’t we make this STOP???!!!! (Chorus):{BIS}/[1 octave higher] (Fade) ------------------------------ It's not much to console,...I know.... But you are in my prayers and maybe...Someday...There will be an end to all the madness. You have my deepest and most sincere condoleances. It is a sad time...sad time indeed... :(Tilly Maslia

May the light of G-d shine especially brightly on you and your families, for having made the ultimate sacrifice for Peace in Israel and the rest of the Middle East. As a mother, I can only imagine your grief, but still I weep with you. For as long as o ur children are the victims, none of us are truly free. They say that only the good and pure die young, but this is no consolation to those left behind. All of us - Jew, Muslim, Christian - must take from this tragedy this lesson, and a vow of Never Again. Never Again must our children suffer for the sins of their parents. Never Again must parents weep for the lost promise of the future generation. As Mot hers and Fathers, we must reach across the chasm of hatred and despair, and find a commmon path towards love and hope. We all want only the best for our children, and it is only through cooperation and putting aside our ancient prejudices and hatreds can we begin to provide them with the joy of the life G-d has given us. Whether we worship Ya-w-h, Jesus, or Allah, the path towards righteousness is the same - Love thy neighbor. If there is any lesson to be learned from the offering of these children, it is this. We must give each other the love we would expect for ourselves. Otherwise all is lost, and the brief shining flames that these children showed us are extinguished hopelessly and forever. May G-d show mercy on us all, and help us learn to love one another so that the parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles of these girls can find solace in the eternal peace that their girls' lives have brought to their country.
