Nehama Leibowitz zt"l 1905-1997 - In Loving Memory

A phenomenon in the world of Torah study and education,Nehama ZT"L Nehama (that is the unassuming way in which she even answered her phone) was a Russian born graduate of the University of Berlin who immigrated to Israel in 1931, became the instructor of three generations of teachers and acquired an extensive and profound influence on Torah pedagogy worldwide—no mean feat for anyone.

Nehama Leibowitz, died in Jerusalem on Shabbat, 5 Nisan, 5757 (April 12, 1997) at the age of 92.

In honor of her first yahrtzeit, the Communications Committee of the Jewish Agency's World Conference of Orthodox Leadership and the Max Stern Division of Communal Services/RIETS joined with the Yerushalayim Network and OU.ORG to dedicate these few simple pages to her memory.

Nehama's teachings continue on, in print on on the web. People the world over are now subscribed and recieve a weekly dose of her greatness. Yet others choose to access the material on the www.

She will be remembered but will always be missed...
