WHAT IS WOMEN'S BRANCH?

Women's Branch is the organization of orthodox synagogue sisterhoods and individual members throughout the United States and Canada.

Women's Branch president is Sophie Ebert, and the Administrator is Nancy I. Klein.

WHAT ARE OUR GOALS?

• To organize, advise and serve sisterhoods.
• To imbue Jewish women and youth with the spirit of Torah Judaism.
• To reach out to combat intermarriage through information and education.

HOW DOES WOMEN'S BRANCH ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS?

Teaching effective administration of sisterhoods through:

• Publications
• Leadership training
• National Conventions
• Regional Conferences
• Speaker's Bureau
• Sponsor's Fund

Education -- teaching traditions of Orthodox Judaism through:

• HACHODESH -- a diversified portfolio of educational material for sisterhood programming, including study series, book reviews and fund-raising ideas.
• HAKOL -- newsletter with information for and from sisterhoods.
• Holiday and special information publications.
• Community Responsibility -- encouraging participation of membership in all areas of Jewish concern.

WHAT ARE OUR NATIONAL PROJECTS?

• Stern College for Women of Yeshiva University Scholarship Fund
• Touro College for Women Scholarship Fund
• Commencement prizes for Excellence in Judaic Studies at Yeshiva,
• Stern and Touro Colleges
• National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY) and YACHAD
• Marriage Committee -- arranging introductions for interested men and women
• Nayros candelabra project: Electric candles for use in hospitals
• Political Action: Promotion and support of pertinent local and federal legislation
• Jewish Braille: traditional Siddur, Bar Mitzvah Torah and Haftorah portions, Kids' Kosher Incredible Edibles cookbook and large type Yizkor prayers and Haggadah
