HALACHIC TIMES for Jerusalem
Correct for TT #449
Ranges are for THU-THU, 24 Kislev - 2 Tevet (DEC 21-28)

For sunrise and sunset, first time takes into account the elevation above sea level of Jerusalem, (the times in parentheses do not take elevation into account).

For the deadlines for Shma and Shacharit, the first times are according to the GR"A, the day being reckoned from sunrise to sunset. (The times in parentheses are according to the Magen Avraham, the day being reckoned from dawn to stars-out).

Candle lighting 4:05pm

Note: It is acceptable practice (some do, some don't) to delay Shabbat candle lighting to 4:20-4:25 for Erev Shabbat Chanuka. This allows Chanuka candles (which precede Shabbat candles) to be lit a little closer to sunset (not close enough to get into Shabbat problems, but closer, which is advisable for at least two reasons). This works only where regular candle lighting is extra early. In locales that have regular candle lighting every Friday from 18-22 minutes before sunset, one should not delay beyond that time.

Havdala - 5:22pm (Rabbeinu Tam - 5:57pm)
Many shuls (in Jerusalem and to a lesser degree, elsewhere) will daven on Motza'ei Shabbat earlier than usual to allow people to get home as early as possible for Chanuka candles.
Earliest Shacharit • 5:30-5:33am
Sunrise • 6:30-6:33am (6:35-6:38am)
Sof Z'man Kri'at Sh'ma • 9:03-9:07am (8:16-8:19am)
Sof Z'man Shacharit • 9:55-9:58am (9:23-9:26am)
Chatzot (halachic noon) • 11:37-11:41am
Mincha Gedola (earliest Mincha) • 12:07-12:11pm
Plag Mincha • 3:40½-3:44½pm
This is the very earliest that Chanuka candles can be lit when an extenuating circumstance does not allow for lighting at the proper time.
Sunset • 4:44½--4:49pm (4:39-4:43pm)
Sunset is the best time to light Chanuka candles (THU, SUN, MON, TUE, WED, THU) - this is Minhag Yerushalayim. Others light at early stars-out, but preferably after Maariv. This is about 20 minutes after sunset. Obviously, the timing for FRI and MOTZA"SH is different.
