Last Week's PPP (Vayishlach)
This first part of the PPP featured Joe DiMaggio who was a Yankee which is a nickname of Yaakov, as in Yan-ke-le. The leaf next to Joe-D is marijuana, also known as Grass which is Hebrew for EISEV which is a close sould-alike for EISAV. Hence, Yaakov and Eisav. On the left is a fish hook with a stange kind of bait, namely the letter L. This gives us BAIT-L, as in Bet El. Based on several attempted solutions, it seems that the two Jacks were misleading, as they were not meant to represent Yaakov. What you have, however, is a losing hand in Black Jack, or LOOZ, the other name of Bet El, mentioned in both Vayeitzei and Vayishlach. I had many good partial solutions, but only one (almost) perfect solution. We'll announce the winners next week, IY"H. My favorite "I wish I would have thought of it" submission was by DM who identified Joe D as the Yankee Clipper, which reminded him of the football penalty of clipping, which is likely to inflict the samekind of injury that Yaakov sustained in his wrestling match. It will still take some work to get back into the PPP swing of things, but we'll get there, IY"H. [The ParshaPix Index][The Vayeishev Homepage] |
