The molad of Kislev was this past Monday late afternoon, 12 minutes and 11 chalakim (parts, there are 18 per minute - each cheilek is 3 and a third seconds) after 5:00. The actual Molad was about 11 hours earlier, at 5:53am, early monday morning. Earliest K.L. will be/is/was (depends when you are reading these words) Thursday night, NOV 11th. Most people will wait until Motza"Sh To'l'dot. 7-day people will wait until Monday night, November 15th. FYI (for your information)... The Institute for Kiddush HaChodesh Studies has been recently formed in Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavne. The purpose of the institute is to educate people in Halcha and the astronomy involved in Kidush Hachodesh, Ebur Shana and other astronomical issues. Anyone who wishes to join is invited.
