Special Tiyul Section

In Appreciation
of the recent Young Israel - Israel Center Shavuot and Shabbat Tiyul
by Hanna Sandhelm

We left Yerushalayim with three buses full
To enjoy our Shavuot and Shabbat tiyul;
We arrived at the Park Hotel in Netanya where we did stay
Had lunch at Pizza Hut, Apropo, or the Milky Way.
From our hotel rooms we watched the paragliders fly
Along the beautiful, cloudless, light-blue sky;
We davened Mincha and watched a play about "Ruth"
Later, about our matriarch Sarah, did learn the truth.
Our daveners, "layners", and Megilat Ruth reader were all great
Lectures by Rabbi Quint and our women were first-rate;
We learned about "Darkei Shalom", and our ancestral "mothers"
Heard interesting lectures by various others.
Let's not forget our walk on Friday night to Kiryat Sanz to attend the Klausenberger Rebbe's "Tisch", - a beautiful sight
Held at their new gymnasium, in the middle of the night;
A huge "Tisch" it was - extended clear across the hall
From upstairs, the women couldn't even see it all.
Besides "Ruth", plays, written by Rabbi Quint, on "Conversion" and "Samson", we also did see
The players were great and we listened to them with glee;
Lectures about the Torah, Halacha, Diabetes and even Hypertension
A variety of subjects to hold our attention.
Thanks to those who all the arrangements did make
Everything really did turn out just great;
And, to Shulamit, who again handed out her delectable sweets
To us, her chocolates are always special treats.
A good time was had by one and all
A nicer week-end we can't recall;
For those of you that this time didn't come along
Be sure to sign up next year, and join the throng.
