Torah Tidbits in the PALM of your hand

If you have a Palm(tm) handheld device (formerly known, and still affectionately referred to, as Palm Pilot) and would like to read and enjoy Torah Tidbits on it, you can download a Palm-version of TT from the Torah Tidbits webpage, www.ou.org/torah/tt. Once the file (.prc or .pdb) is on your computer, you can hotsync it into your Palm. It can then be read with any of the many document readers. TealDoc is recommended, because the file is prepared with its bookmarks with TealDoc. Rich Reader reads the documents well, as does CSpotRun (although it does not support bookmarks; Rich Reader does). If you need help with any of the above, call Phil at the Israel Center (500-3333 ext. 207) or email to tt@ou.org.

www.pilotyid.com and www.penticon.com are recommended for Jewish "stuff" for the Palm. The J'lem Post is now available for the Palm by using AvantGo. A bit complicated to set up and fairly memory-hungry, but it works nicely.

Once you set up AvantGo, you can get a lot more than the JPost. E.g. New york Times, USAToday, and thousands of "channels" (as they are called) of a wide variety of interests. When you are online, at avantgo.com, and your Palm is in its cradle, then hotsyncing will update your Post, Times, whatever.
