Parashat Lech L'cha
The bold arrow from the East to E. Yisrael is Avraham's response to LECH L'CHA. The compass on the map is G-d's telling Avraham to check out the Land. The rouind-trip arrows are for the trip A & S made to Mitzrayim and back. The two-way arrow is the choice of direction that Avraham gave Lot. Check out Onkeles, who "translates"LEFT as NORTH and RIGHT as SOUTH. This would work out if Avraham would be facing East, from where he came. Then his left would be north and his right would be south. The 4 and 5 crowns represent the battle of the 4 kings and the five kings. In refusing compensation from the king of S'dom, Avraham refers to a thread anda shoe lace (upper right). The observatory is to help Avraham go outside and look at the stars. The cow, goat, and sheep are split for the Brit Bein Hab'tarim. The bird was not split. And the man with the baby is at a BRIT. [The ParshaPix Index][The Lech L'cha Homepage] |
