Parashat Bamidbar
The cactus under the sun is in the desert. That's a MIDBAR, as in BAMIDBAR. There are twelve flags - do not try to read any symbolism into their design - are for the twelve tribes of Israel. The parking meter is for the references to the people camping (around the Mishkan, under the flag of one of the four group leaders. The abacus is for the counting of the people. (An abacus can probably be used to count people in an indirect manner.) The skull (the term GULGOLET is used by the Torah) with the 5 is for the 5 sh'kalim per person in the mass exchange-redemption, specifically, the 273 "extra" b'chorim over the 22,000 one-for-one. 1 to 29 Iyar is for the first of Iyar that is the timing of this first sedra of Bamidbar, and the 29 is the date in Iyar if this Shabbat. That makes it MACHAR CHODESH.
