Torah Tidbits in the PALM of your hand - Technology serving Torah

You can download the Palm version of Torah Tidbits from the Torah Tidbits website - www.ou.org/torah/tt (or from www.pilotyid.com which will send you to the ou/tt site) - or you can email me and ask to be put on the email list to receive an attached file of the document. (Sorry for the couple of times it was not sent out. Use the web as backup) If you need help with the procedures of downloading and/or hotsyncing, contact Phil at the Israel Center (500-3333 ext. 207) or email to tt@ou.org.

This column has taken a break of a couple of weeks, but it's back. In the future, this column might be expanded to include computer information and advice in addition to just for Palm.

The last column discussed preparing text for the Palm. Yonatan Taragin wrote that the simplest way to put text into your Palm is to open the Palm Desktop on your computer, create a new memo and paste any text you have copied into the memo. Next time you hotsync, the memo is written into your Palm. The only limitation of this method is that memos on the Palm have a 4k limit. However, if the text you try to memo-ize is more than 4k, it will automatically be broken into 4k-size memos which will appear one after the other on your memo list. When reading memos, when you finish page-downing a memo, the next one automatically pops up, so it is fairly easy to read large amounts of text.
