Parshat Yitro
Explanations of this week's ParshaPix - The B"H in the upper-right is a quote from Yitro. The gavel represents the advice about judging the people that Yitro gave to Moshe. The cloud is the Cloud from Har Sinai. The warning sign is from the base of Har Sinai to keep people and animals off during G-d's presence there. The Shofar is also from Har Sinai, the ever-increasing sound that accompanied Revelation at Sinai. At the bottom is a wine cup representing the mitzva of Kiddush from Commandment #4. The fellow mowing the lawn represents the prohibitions of Melacha on Shabbat, also from commandment #4. Cutting grass helps it grow better and is therefore forbidden as a TO'L'DA of HAZOREI'A, the one who plants. [The ParshaPix Index][The Yitro Homepage] |
