Parshat Tzav - Shabbat Hagadol- Pesach
The Sifrei Torah with the letters represents the korbanot that the Torah said, V'ZOT TORAT HA'OLAH or MINCHA or CHATAT, ASHAM, SH'LAMIM.The Torah uses that phrase - V'ZOT HATORAH - for a special kind of emphasis. The animals at the bottom represent the different korbanot. When going over Parshat HaShavua with your children, wife, guests, etc. take a little time to realize that out of all the mammals in the world, these three are it. And that's all. And birds? Even more exclusive. The oil can in the lower-left was used often in Parshat Tzav. The lamb in the doorway represents the initial taking of a lamb into the house, several days before Y'tziat Mitzrayim. According to Tradition, the 10th of Nisan was a Shabbat that year, a great Shabbat of anticipation of things to come. A Shabbat HaGadol. [The ParshaPix Index][The Tzav - Pesach Homepage] |
