Last Week's PPP (T'rumah) There was none. But here is one anyway.
Sometimes, the preparation of the week's issue of Torah Tidbits falls behind schedule, and some of the features get bumped as a result. Take the above PPP as an apology to Parshat T'ruma, which deserves PPPs as much as any other sedra. Because there was no PPP last week, there is no PPP report this week. Obvious, no? But there were two riddles on Torah Tidbits Audio on Arutz-7 last Thursday night. Here they are to challenge you (if you stay away from the solutions in the column to the right. Radio Riddles That was the first riddle. It came with a hint, an obscure one to be sure, but a good hint which you might appreciate after you see the solution. The hint is: Adam and Chava were the INITIAL PAIR. As an additional hint, readers of TT should have an easier time with this first riddle than listeners did. [B] And the second riddle was: ARON, SHULCHAN, wall boards, MIZBEI'ACH, KALLA. TT355PPP - T'TZAVEH [A] Notice that the hint did not describe Adam and Chava as the first people or couple, but INITIAL PAIR. This refers to the intial pair of letters of each word in the riddle, and has nothing to do with Adam and Chava per se. The initial pairs of letters of automobiles age curiously, are au, ag, and cu. Better written asAu, Ag, and Cu, the chemical symbols for the three metals gold, silver, and copper. They, of course, are the three metals collected for use in the building of the Mishkan and its furnishings. [B] Looking for the common denominator of Aron, Shulchan, wall boards, Mizbei'ach and a bride. The answer is GOLD RINGS. Those of the Aron, Shulchan, and Mizbei' ach were for the insertion of carrying poles. The rings for the wall boards were used to join each board to its neighbor. Those rings were rectangular, not round. The Kalla's ring is given to her by the Chatan as the equivalent of money in the marriage "transaction". Have fun. [The ParshaPix Index][The T'zaveh Homepage] |
