[July 8] A band of Druze attacked the Jewish community of Tzfat, 1838. First Jewish settler in North America leaves for New Amsterdam, 1654.

[25 Tammuz] Lithuanian Jews receive Charter of Privilege, 1388. Yahrzeit of the Sha'agat Aryeh, 1785. Napoleon orders Jews of France to adopt family names, 1808. Anti-Jewish rioters attack the funeral procession of RJJ in New York City, 1902.

[26 Tammuz] Yahrzeit of Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried (Kitzur Shulchan Aruch), 1886. Jews of Upina, Lithuania executed by the Nazis, 1941.

[27 Tammuz] Pope declares that Jews are doomed to perpetual servitude and subjugation due to you knows what, 1205. (The Church did not remove this charge against the Jews until 1963.) Third expulsion of Jews from France, 1322. (Did they keep going back?!) A Jew and the non-Jew he helped to convert to Judaism were burnedat the stake in St. Petersburg (later Leningrad, now St. Petersburg again), 1738. Jews of Holstein, Germany granted equality 1863. (Sad to say it, but this kind of event also proved tragic for Klal Yisrael.) Pogroms in Bialystok, 1905. Haifa Port open, 1933.

[July 11] Jewish settlers, with Torah and other religious items, arrive in Savannah, Georgia, 1733. Jews expelled from Little Russia, 1740. Gates of the Jewish ghetto in Venice were torn down, 1797. Kovno ghetto liquidated by the Nazis, 1944.

[28 Tammuz] 41 Jews burned at the stake in Breslau; remainder of the Jews expelled, 1453. Jews of Brussels (yes, even there) expelled, 1716. Jews of Hevron attacked, 1835. 5000 Jews of Rovno (Polish Ukraine) executed by the Nazis, 1942.

[29 Tammuz] 896th yahrzeit of RASHI. 15 Jews charged with ritual murder were acquitted, 1883. Male population of Grodz executed by the Nazis, 1941.

[July 13] Equal rights granterd for Jews of Rumania, 1878.

[1 Av] Plague of Frogs. Yahrzeit of Aharon HaKohen (only yahrzeit identified in the Torah) Yahrzeit of Elazar b. Aharon HaKohen. Ezra and his followers arrive in Jerusalem 457b.c.e. (They were not greeted by representatives of the Jewish Agency). Pope decrees against blood-ritual charges, 1247. (In light of how many bloodlibels there were in our history, this decree by this pope and others were not very effective.) Armed revolt in Treblinka, 1943.

[2 Av] Inquisition established, 1267. Another pope (ineffectively) bans blood-ritual accusations, 1274. French police round up for deportation 13,000 Jews (including 4500 children) in Nazi-occupied Paris, 1942. 30 adults survived.

[July 15] Crusaders capture Jerusalem, 1099. Spanish Inquisition abolished, 1834. Berlin Jews attacked by Nazi gangs, 1935.
