ParshaPix Puzzle

Last Week's PPP (Shlach)

Last week there was a micro-PPP - you might not even have noticed it. But some people did. And one even solved it correctly. There were some good tries also. Here it is - PPP370 - SH'LACH:

P or F

Zvi Roth thought it might have to do with the two words from the Tzitzit portion, HAKANAF P'TIL, the first word ending in an F sound, the second beginning with a P sound. No, that's not it.

ES thought it might have to do with a Dikduk rule that most people don't remember - but he rejected the idea. He went with Pass or Fail, P or F, as in the Meraglim giving a passing or failing report about the Land. Nice try, but that's not it. You should have stuck to the Dikduk line of thought.

MMBklyn, last week's big winner, also came up with Pass/Fail, as in tests for Eretz Yisrael, the Meraglim, and the People. Again, nice try, but this week's Noam Productions CD goes to someone else.

There were a few other tries - nothing exciting. And then there was the email from SLK. He or she (I know which one) got it (I think - explain yourself next time please). One of the questions that Moshe put to the Meraglim about the Land was, "Hechazak Hu HaRafeh", is it strong or week. These two terms can refer to theaspiration, or lack thereof, of some Hebrew letters. BET with a dot in it is a B; without the dot it is V. With the dot, the letter is CHAZAK; without it, it is RAFEH. So P or F asks the same question about the letter PEI. That's it. SLK - please be in touch at your earliest convenience, as they say, so we can arrangea CD-transfer.

Since this week is SH'LACH for Chutz LaAretz, I'll give you the Radio Riddles from Torah Tidbits Audio (Arutz-7, Thursday night) without the solutions.
