Points to ponder...

Why did the Jews keep coming back to France to be expelled again?

When Jews were treated well in their countries of dispersion, how did we behave and what happened to us?

Where did non-Jews get the chutzpa to do what they did?

Train of thought...

The Synod of Protestant Church of the Rheinland in 1980, agreed that they had to reexamine their relationship with Jews. They came to this conclusion in light of their recognition of Christian co-responsibility and guilt for the Holocaust - the defamation, persecution, and murder of Jews in the Third Reich. (This was oneof four factors that lead to the Synod's conclusions.

I include this statement just because I saw it for the first time this week, and I'm still thinking about what it means. It is not directly related to the Day-by-Day entries.
