This year is a P'SHUTA and a SHALEIM, meaning it has 12 months and an extra day - that being the 30th of Cheshvan (the first day of Rosh Chodesh Kislev). 5759 has 355 days, the "coolest" of the six possible lengths of years (353,354,355,383,384,385) because it is the G'matriya of the word SHANA, 300+50+5 = 355.
