had been defiled
by the Greeks were removed from the Beit HaMikdash. The
day was designated as a festival by Megilat Taanit. American Jewish Committee was
established, 1906, to prevent the infraction of civil rights and religious rights of Jews,
to alleviate the consequences of persecution,to give relif from calamities affecting Jews.
Carmiel was established in 1964 in an attempt to increase Jewish population of the Galil.
