Parshat B'Shalach
Explanations of this week's ParshaPix - To its right is the Pillar of Fire which accompanied them at night. In the upper right is a Davka graphic of the Splitting of the Sea. The wheel is one of the Egyptian chariot wheels that came off when they entered the seabed. The tambourine belongs to Miriam who led the women in joyful song at the Sea. There's a rock giving water and in the center bottom is a quail. The Lechem Mishna represents the Manna. Lower left are the two weapons we have against Amalek - the sword, as wielded by Yehoshua and his army, and the upraised hands of Moshe representing prayer to G-d. The remaining graphic pieces relate to the Haftara. The bee singing next to a bolt of lightning in the lower right refer to the pasuk in the Haftara: Vatashar D'vora U'varak... And then there is a container of milk, the very same one she gave Sisra a drink from. And there is the tent stake in her hand. [The ParshaPix Index][The B'Shalach Homepage] |
