 Parshat
BaMidbar

Main item of this week's ParshaPix are 12 flags representing the
flags of the Tribes of Israel, spoken about in this week's sedra. In the upper-right
corner is a representation of a desert, as in Midbar. Of course, desert is not such a
great translation of Midbar in the context of the Torah - wilderness would be better- but
that's how it goes. The parking meter is for the encampments in the Midbar; the Hebrew for
parking and camp have the same root. The abacus is for all the counting that takes place.
And the skull with the 5 on it is for GULGOLET (referring to the head count of the People)
and the 5 sh. redemption fee for the 273 b'chorimafter the one-on-one Levi-B'chor matchup.
